Jay-Z Says Obama Said "Give Me The Ball" At End Of 2nd Election

 

 

Barack Obama's love for basketball is a subject that comes up fairly regularly as the President loves to play hoops, and doesn't even mind if he catches an errant elbow, or is off on a day and throws up some bricks in front of onlookers, he just likes to ball. The President has somewhat of a relationship with Roc Nation Sports head, and hip hop mogul, Jay-Z, who took part in the OPUS' fundraising during his campaign, and even performed in Ohio on Barack's final and important stop before the election.
In a recent interview with Hot 97 to promote Magna Carta...Holy Grail, Jigga was asked about his relationship with Obama, and he opened up and said he has the Pres on speed dial and they talk from time to time. When asked what they talk about Jay said that Barack Obama is "just a regular guy" and the subject of sports comes up a lot - as the two share a passion for ball.
Giving an example of how important basketball is to Obama, Jay-Z recalls a story at the end of the President's second Presidential Campaign where he said he was going to close out the Presidential race like the end of a basketball game, "Hey, you know, fourth quarter...just give me the ball."

He's really heavy into sports, like a lot of his analogies, are sports....I don't know if this is like 'breaching national security,' but when he was getting elected the second time he was like, 'Hey, you know, fourth quarter...just give me the ball.'...I said 'Word,' that was amazing, I had to give it a 'Word.'
