Brazil fires National Football Coach Felipe Scolari

Luiz Felipe Scolari has left his post as Brazil manager after the host nation tasted their second World Cup defeat in five days.
Brazil failed to restore pride on Saturday as they were beaten 3-0 by Holland in the third place play-off, having been humiliated 7-1 in the semi-final on Tuesday by Germany. Although it yet to be confirmed, Brazilian media are reporting that he has been sacked.
Scolari met with Brazilian Football Confederation officials on Saturday night after the loss, which made them the first Brazil side to lose consecutively on home soil since 1940.
Scolari and his team were booed off at half and full time of the 3-0 defeat, bringing a tournament of high expectations to a depressing end.
Afterwards, Scolari said: ‘My future is not yet decided. It’s CBF who will tell me whether I’ll stay or not.’
And not wanting to overshadow the World Cup final on Sunday, he added: ‘I won’t discuss this with press today.’
The sacking completes a U-turn made by said president, Marco Polo Del Nero, who gave Scolari his vote of confidence earlier in the week.
‘To me, he stays,’ Del Nero told the Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper.
‘What happened (against Germany) was a tactical error. That was the problem. But we all make mistakes. It can happen to anyone.
